Runcast 45 - The importance of recovery

Explaining what we can do to help the body recover after an endurance training.

People tend to keep pushing things they like to do, until they overdo it. With runners, overdoing it means that we tire more easily, our training stagnates, instead of getting faster we get slower, and we become prone to injuries.

Many training plans include different forms of cross training as a solution for overtraining. There is, however, another important part of training process which is rarely emphasized - recovery. I’m joined today by Carolyn Murray, a coach with Triathlon Canada and Canadian Sport Centre Pacific. She is here to explain the importance of recovery in training process.
